Sherry Trepanier started her career goals without even knowing it when she started tutoring
at Merrill Elementary where her mother was a secretary back in the 80’s. She thought it was awesome, so she decided to become a teacher! She has her bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with an Early Childhood Endorsement, and a master's degree in Early Childhood Education. She's had many jobs in Flint Community Schools over the years. She started
by travel teaching for the summer Day Camp program, became a Teacher’s Aide at DTM in the Rainbow Exchange Latchkey program, substitute taught, finished her degree, and became a full-time teaching Pierson Panther in 1994. She has also been a Williams Wildcat, Scott Skyrocket and finally, a Freeman Mustang. She has held various titles throughout her career as well. She has taught grades K-6 as a classroom teacher, team teacher, platoon teacher, multiage teacher, Learning Community Leader, Lead Teacher, Curriculum Coordinator, Testing Coordinator, Data & Assessment Coordinator, Acting Principal and a Reading Intervention Specialist just to name a few! She has loved them all… but her favorite is teaching little people how to read! In her spare time, she loves spending time with her family and furbabies while watching and listening to nature happen! Life is good!
